Kuudere

glossary term plain-language definition 4 related terms

A character who is calm, aloof, and unemotional on the surface, but shows a softer, caring side over time.

In-Depth Explanation

Unlike a Tsundere who is actively hostile, a Kuudere is simply cool and distant. They are often logical and stoic. The appeal is in slowly earning their trust and affection, which they express in subtle, rare, but deeply meaningful ways. They are common in "Vanilla" and "Plot"-heavy stories.
